Fundamental: Ambulatory Advanced Heart Failure

This session will focus on the population of patients with advanced HF (NYHA III, IIIB, IV), who are not eligible for surgical therapies (OHT or LVAD). In general, the goals of care and management strategies will be address across this later phase of the heart failure continuum, with shifting emphasis based on clinical state and patient personal goals.

  • Describe tools available to manage diuretic resistance for patients with ambulatory advanced heart failure
  • Identify patients with a diagnosis of advanced heart failure who are nearing end-of-life and
  • Implement strategies to provide ambulatory care for the advanced heart failure population
